One of the biggest thermal spa complexes in the world in DR

According to Tourism Minister Felix Jimenez, one of the biggest thermal spa complexes in the world will be open soon in the Dominican Republic.

The new spa project will be constructed in Canoa, a small town in the region of Barahona. The complex will also include a luxury hotel with 1,000 bedrooms plus a sports facility and conference centre.

The total budget of the project is around US$769 million (570 million Euro), and the construction is estimated to take 7 years to complete.

The Agua Resort and Spa will be opened in Punta Cana

A new spa resort will open its doors soon in the Dominican Republic. The Agua Resort and Spa will be located on the north eastern corner of the Dominican Republic, around 24 miles from the Punta Cana International Airport.

The resort, designed by Dominican architect Antonio Segundo Imbert, will be stretched along a private white sand beach. 18 villas will contain a total of 53 suites. The Agua Resort is designed to reflect traditional Caribbean architecture, natural stone and local hardwoods will be used in each villa. The decor of the resort was created by Patricia Reid.

The resort's facilities will include three on-site restaurants, indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, a sauna, a beachfront infinity pool and five treatment rooms
