"I've been all over the world. This was the best vacation of my life!"

Me and two other beautiful women went to the hamaca for 5 days (in may). It was incredible. The food was great (DEFINITELY GO TO THE RIGOLETTO). The waiters and bartenders were SO much fun! ANd the chocolate friends (although cheezy) were fantastic. The best part were the guests and the bebidas! The other guests at the resort are so laid back.....and from so many walks of life. We all had a blast! I hope you enjoy yourself....consider the bad reviews...but also realize that there are people like me that had a fantastic time!Take care

"Good but not great"

The Hamaca Coral is definitely not up to standards you would expect from the Hilton name, but it's not to say that it was bad either. The hotel itself was not situated greatly. It's actually two sides with a small street between the two but within gated grounds with armed security, so don't be scared while on the resort. Don't waste your money on the ocean view rooms. The view is not what you expect of the caribbean on this somewhat man-made beach. Definitely take a Garden room because this is where the larger pool is. Also it's closer to the breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet. The el Charro mexican restaurant is good which is pool side but you have to make a reservation at the concierge. The Rigoletto italian restaurant was halfway decent, so don't expect much of italian food in the DR.

"More than I expected for a single traveler"

I read the reviews for this hotel after I booked it for the Memorial Day weekend. It was good to have an idea because when I finally got there, I found more than I expected. I had no problem with the tiles, but yes with the A/C, which was fixed soon. The Disco is not so good, since they play too much merengue and have no balance in genders, but you can compensate that with other activities like going into the beach by night, which is pretty safe and warm. The food was OK, but the service was great, specially with someone like me, a single woman traveling by her self. The hotel, as most of All-Inclusives, is more family and honemooners oriented. Nevertheless, I had such a great time there that I didn't went outside the hotel in four days. Thus, what I recommend is to go there without great expectations, but with the attitude to have a nice vacation. You will be retributed and will always remember it.
