"Loved it"
This was an excellent hotel. The room was amazing. Nice and large. Bathroom was huge compared to others I have stayed at. The facilities are extremely clean and excellent. You get the full Caribbean feel. The staff is extremely friendly. They make you truly feel like a guest by looking out for your needs. The beach was amazing (not at all dirty like people are saying). Very clean. Nice and quiet. Sales staff on the beach do not pester you. You just shake your head and they dont bother you at all. The restaurant next to the beach had some excellent fare.
A few tips for travellers: For the hotels requiring reservations, book reservations upon arrival (ASAP) as they go quickly.
A Few complaints:
1.) The phone line in our room did not work because of upgrades (but I didn't use it that much and will not let that ruin my vacation...so not a big deal).
2.) The "La Giralda" restaurant grew tiring after a few days. The food is a little bland, but if you book the reservations, and add a little variety to your food...it is very excellent. The fact that this resort has 7 restaurants is amazing. I highly recommend the Mexican restaurant. They make a mean Fajita.
3.) A round of golf costs $100 US plus caddy, so is very pricey. I was hoping to try the resort, but could not part with that much money for 1 round.
4.) The evening shows are not too Dominican in theme. I would rather see a Dominican theme show, than seeing a Dominican sing Elvis and Cher. I hope they switch to more local cultural themes.
5.) Not enough food for vegetarians.
"One great vacation....O wow"
Basically all I have to say is, O WOW, for the price i paid....this place was amazing... really good food (considering its not home), amazing service, nice pools, and a really friendly crowd. The only bad thing ( 2 some) i would have to say is that, its more of a family place, ( may be good for others), lots of younger kids with families and compared to Cancun ..less parties..., but still meet alot of great people and make the best of it, there are a few clubs which makes it fun. The Hotel staff members are great! I just got back today...and really wish i could be there another week!! maybe someday soon!! P.S......i know a few people who will never forget this trip!!
