"Friendliest holiday"
ME & my boyfriend have just come back from a holiday at the Club On The Green (12.07.04). The only 2 things we had a slight problem with was 1. THE LOCALS, that swarm in at the weekend, we found it hard to get on the tractor trailer to the beach,get a place to sit in the restraunt , get to the bar or sit in the bar area . But they are only there from friday night to sunday lunch time , then after that its a very quiet and relaxed hotel..2. THE MOSQUITOES!!!!! What a nightmare, my fella never got bit but i was eaten alive every night, as were many others I spoke to. My advice plenty of strong repellants which im not convinced are that good anyway. Everything else about the hotel was spot on, the staff were more than friendly, The entertainment they laid on at night was entertaining, amusing and very energetic. The rooms were clean and cleaned every day with clean bedding and towels. Although we spent everyday at the beach the pools were clean in and around . We also booked our excursions on the beach which was completly safe and less than 1/2 the price the tour reps were charging. I'd recommend the jeep safari with "indiana jones" the waterfalls there are magnificent and breathtaking!! The vendors on the beach are polite and if you dont engage in conversation you wont be pestered to buy any thing, just say no thank-you and they move along. However if you do wish to purchase something from them always knock your price down to half price and stick to it.
The food was excellent and varied and Im a fussy eater but I never once had a problem with anything. The food at the beach hut was usually the same hotdogs, chips, burgers and salad. Also we went to Hemmingways one night for something to eat which is reasoably priced and excellent mexican food. I would recommend Club On The Green to any one, it can be as relaxed or as energetic as you make it. EXCELLENT cant wait to go again.
"Needs improvement!"
Needs Improvement! Staff- Friendly at the Manager's party on Thurs. Not friendly when we needed help. Room- Nice when you looked at it. Linens and towels were not cleaned properly. Pool- Stick to the Relax pool, Main pool was crowded and people had no manners! Food- Brazilian Resturant was the best! Did not enjoy much else. Bar- Swim up bar is a good idea, if you can get service there!
